Girl ‘drugged, raped’ at farmhouse in Karachi

KARACHI: A 16-year-old girl was drugged and raped at a farmhouse in Gulshan-e-Maymar area of the city, police said on Friday.
While talking to Geo News, Malir SSP Munir Shaikh said the 16-year-old was upset with her family and went to the farmhouse with her friend Shahrukh and his friends.
At the farmhouse, police said, one of Shahrukh’s friends, Faizan, offered her a drugged drink after which she fell unconscious and he reportedly raped her.
In her initial statement the girl told the police that Shahrukh, Maaz and Ahsan thrashed Faizan for offering her a drugged drink, following which the latter fled the site. She added that the three then took her to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
The girl underwent medical examination at the hospital, after which the facility’s medico-legal officer, Dr Samia, confirmed that she was raped. Her blood samples were also taken to determine out whether she consumed any drugged drink.

Supreme Court to hear APS attack case on Oct 5 More than 140 people, most of them students, were martyred in the terrorist attack in Dec 2014. ISLAMABAD  After a longstanding demand of the victim’s parents to conduct a judicial inquiry into the 2014 APS massacre, the Surpeme Court of Pakistan has fixed October 5 as the date for hearing of the suo moto notice.  A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar will hear the case.
