Dutch national Linda Irene found dead inside hotel room in Chennai under mysterious circumstances
A 24-year-old Dutch national, Linda Irene, was found dead in her hotel room at a convention centre in Chennai's T Nagar. She was living at the centre on Venkatesan Street since Monday.

Chennai: Staff members employed with a convention centre cum hotel here discovered the body of a Dutch national in one of their rooms. 24-year-old Linda Irene was found dead in T Nagar late on Thursday night by hotel authorities.
On being alerted of the matter, police officials reached the convention centre and recovered Irene's body. Also found in her room was her passport which suggests that the deceased had introduced herself as a journalist upon entering the country. Hotel staff told law enforcement agents that Irene had checked into her room at the convention centre on Venkatesan Street on Monday. At the time of checking in, she had told the front desk that she would vacate the room on Thursday morning.
When the hotel staff did not hear from her till 12.30 pm on Thursday, they went up to her room and tried knocking. However, when no one responded, a staff member used the master key to enter the room only to find Irene's body on her bed. A case has been registered in this regard at the Mambalam police station. Meanwhile, Irene's body has been sent for post-mortem to the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in the city. An officer part of the probe told media personnel that concerned officials have been notified about the death of the foreign national.
