Mussoorie's Kempty Falls turns furious after incessant rains – Watch video


Heavy rains continue to lash in northern India for the second consecutive day on Saturday. The rains have affected the basic services and crippled the traffic and transport in Delhi and neighbouring states - Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh.

New Delhi: The continuous rainfall has caused the water-level to rise in Mussoorie’s Kempty Falls in Uttarakhand. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rain at a few places with very heavy falls in parts of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh for Friday and Saturday. The rains have crippled normal life in many parts of the country. 
The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) team and local district administration rescued eight people who have stuck in the middle of the flooded Giri river in Sirmaur district today. 
The Met department has said that the rains will continue to lash in most part of northern and eastern parts of the country for next 48 hours. Yesterday, the government officials said that nine people have died so far in Uttar Pradesh due to heavy rains.


The IMD warning said, "Heavy to very heavy rain with extremely heavy falls at isolated places very likely over West Uttar Pradesh, heavy rain at a few places with very heavy falls at isolated places very likely over Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh."
For July 28, the IMD has predicted heavy to very heavy rain at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya. Heavy rains at isolated places are likely over Himachal, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Arunachal Pradesh.
The national capital woke up to heavy rainfall yesterday that caused water-logging in various places in Delhi-NCR. The same situation prevailed today as the rain continues to lash in the region, however, the schools and colleges remained open.

Supreme Court to hear APS attack case on Oct 5 More than 140 people, most of them students, were martyred in the terrorist attack in Dec 2014. ISLAMABAD  After a longstanding demand of the victim’s parents to conduct a judicial inquiry into the 2014 APS massacre, the Surpeme Court of Pakistan has fixed October 5 as the date for hearing of the suo moto notice.  A three-member bench headed by Chief Justice Saqib Nisar will hear the case.
